Junk Journal your Christmas Series No.3~ Nostalgic Additions

Welcome back to Junk Journal Your Christmas Video series number 3. In this video I show you different ways to add nostalgic memories and document about Christmas past. I love telling stories of loved ones and how we celebrated Christmas in the past. I am including two free printables below to use in your journal, they are of scanned in vintage hankies.

Now, let’s talk about the remainder of the Journal your Christmas series. In the upcoming videos I want to talk photos, embellishments and daily numbers.  I had planned on creating one video showing embellishments, but I think I will create a series of short quick videos. I have ideas to make wands, bookmarks, tassels, and junk bows. Let the Merry Making begin!

Summer Journaling Week 5~ Prepping Journal Pages

Hello and welcome to week 5 in my Summer Journaling series! In this video I show you how I prep journal pages for future journaling.  How many of us who paint our journal pages have to wait for the paint to dry? If your like me I am so easily distracted I find it better to add watercolor to pages before I am ready to journal so when I am ready, I have painted pages already. Does that makes sense? In this video I show you what I do. I hope you are inspired to be creative today!!

Thanks for watching,

Rebecca

Happy Planner Memory Keeping May 2018

Hello!!! Happy National Scrapbook Day, one day later! I am about 6 weeks behind in memory keeping in my Happy Planner so yesterday, laye evening I started working to get caught up. I created this video to show you my process of making a coversheet for the month of May 2018. At the beginning of each month in the Happy Planner there is a section to list your current happenings and a quote page. I like to cover the quote page with either a theme of the month or current pictures. For the month of May I created a collage of pictures to represent Mother’s Day. Here in my process video.

Preparing my a “Week in A Life” Journal

Hello! It’s been a while since I posted a video, I’ve been so caught up in life changes, not necessarily a bad thing, but I’ll elaborate more on that later! Next month Ali Edwards is hosting another “Week in a Life” documentation and I want to prepare my journal so that I am ready!!  I mention in the video a site to find the log sheets and more about ‘A week in a Life” here is Ali Edwards site and here is the blog that has the link the log sheets.  I have been following along with Ali since 2011 and I absolutely love this project. I hope you are inspired to document your week and would love to see how you plan too. Thanks for watching and I’ll see you in my next video!

Documenting Daily Life in my Happy Planner~ January 2018

Hello! One of my goals for the New Year is to start blogging, I use to blog ALOT about 3-4 years ago and I really miss it. I loved posting craft projects, places I’ve visited and blogging is where I discovered my love for creating art canvases. Today I want to talk about how I plan to document / scrapbook the everyday using a large Happy Planner. I absolutely LOVE scrapbooking and document life using pictures, papers, paint and all the fun creative media. I have used the concept from Project Life to take a photo a day and sometimes it happens and sometimes not, but I’m thrilled to have January complete. Here are the layout pages:
January Introduction Page

What’s fun about the Happy Planner is it has a place for important dates, plans, and current events or what is currently happening at the beginning of each month.
Week One~ January 1-7

Surprisingly ,I didn’t take as many photos this week, I think is was due to the fact I started a new job which requires a hour commute to and from Austin and having symptoms from CEDAR fever! UGH!
Week Two~ January 8-14

We celebrated my daughter Brazos’ birthday this week and quite possibly we celebrated the entire week! This week was the start of Girl Scout Cookie Season and starting and finishing a Science Fair Project.
Week Three~ January 15-21

This was such a cold week, I used paper snowflakes punched out from a Daphne’s Diary Magazine and added twine with a sparkle snowflake to add a bit of dimension. Love that I took lots of photos this week!
Week Four~ January 22-28

This was the week I had the flu..wah! It was awful! However, my sister was looking through old photo slides for my parent’s 50th wedding anniversary and she sent me all these fun photos from when we were kids, so I added them into this weekly layout.
That’s a wrap for January. I hope to film a process video soon for documenting in my Happy Planner, so stay tuned!

Documenting LIFE – Index Card System

Last year I purchased this set of “Journal index cards” from Tisa Creations. I decided this would be my journaling system for 2016 and each day I write a journal bit and add washi, die cuts and pictures. This has really helped me in filling the documenting and scrapbooking desire in my heart passion. HOWEVER I am still working on pictures and how to add them more to this process.
