February 2021 Newsletter

February Quote: Steady as a Clock, Busy as a Bee, and cheerful as a cricket~ Martha Washington

Hello and Welcome to the Creative Hoot’s February Newsletter! Welcoming this month of LOVE with open arms, I know many are still suffering and I continue to pray for my family, neighbors, and friends all over the world. In the meantime, I will look for the fairies and dream of brighter days ahead.

This past month was filled with a snow, yes snow, which is very rare in my part of Texas, we enjoyed it so much. I loved watching it come down while staying cozy inside the house.

Brazos made a teeny tiny little snowman and took moments to enjoy every last minute until darkness came. We knew by morning it would all be melted away.

Also, this past month we begin our Valentine celebration! Last month I coordinated a Valentine Card Swap. More to come on that… I plan to write a more detailed blog post on the fun we are having with our inner child and bring back all the feels of a Valentine Party! Just a little sneak Peek of the “Inner Child Valentine Box” I made. I have a video on how it was created. You can find it here.

Looking ahead, I am so excited for the next CWR Journal Kit! If you love cute little bees, then this kit will be for you! Introducing the star of the kit, “Ms. Bee” My sister sent me the meaning behind the name “Bee” it means “she who brings happiness” I think this little sweetheart will bring lots of happiness to your heart! As I say with every kit, but I truly mean it… this one was so fun to put together!!

The February BBG (Big Brave Girl) Stickers are available now in the shop, I really loved using the numbers and days of the week in my Journaling.

The Sticker Club is in Full Swing as well! I have had so much fun putting the Welcoming kits together and sending them out! If you are interested in becoming a member, I now have a “purchase’ that can be made for the next month. You will receive the Welcome Kit and that month’s stickers. Then I will automatically bill through Paypal. Please feel free to contact me with questions.

Looking forward to a month of hearts, well and to be honest I live the whole year with hearts and stars, but this is a bonus month! I leave you with a fun little coloring page, print her out, color and use in your journal or on cards. I’ll be creating a video on Instagram and Facebook to show you the medium I use. Happy Coloring!

Happy February Wishes, Rebecca

Published as a Trail Blazer

Me? Published! Wow I was so excited and thrilled to be even considered. My creative pen guru, Angel with PenGems suggested that I be interviewed for the publication out of Dallas, Texas called the Voyage Dallas Trail Blazers. I was sent a questionnaire with questions to answer about myself and my business along with any advice that I would give to anyone coming into business as a creative entrepreneur.

So first up, I had to know the meaning of a Trail Blazer, so this is what googled told me a person “who makes a new track through wild country, a pioneer, an innovator.” Now I know I’m not the first person to go on this journey, but I am the only one that is going on MY journey. I have to say in this stage of my adventure the number one thing I tell myself over and over is to NEVER EVER give-up. I took on this business motto back in 2012 when I decided to start my small business. Throughout my life I had started so many creative outlets, I took floral design, I started a handmade business right after my son was born, and I created different crafts and sold them to friends. All these times I just quit when it became too hard or I didn’t really know the next step. In 2011, I discovered blogs and it opened my eyes widely to so many creative types and finding my tribe. This is when my dreams began to take a direction, I believed that it is possible to do what you are supposed to be doing, in my case it’s being an artist, and make a living. Not as a starving artist but as a creative entrepreneur. Using my creativity to inspire others to create and have a whole lot of fun in the process.
